The Vellum MCP add-on connects subscribed ecosystem content to supported MCP-enabled applications and enterprise workflows. Query published briefs and source-linked analysis without leaving the environment where your team works.

A regulatory question may arise while a team is drafting a memo, preparing a board paper, or conducting research. With the MCP integration enabled in a supported application, subscribed Vellum content can be queried within that workflow.
Responses draw from the published Vellum briefs and source-linked analysis included in the subscriber's selected ecosystems.
How it works
A read-only connection to Vellum.
A supported MCP host connects to Vellum's remote service using a subscriber credential tied to the ecosystems in that organisation's plan. Vellum checks the entitlement on each request and returns only content covered by that subscription.
MCP support and configuration differ between host applications. Compatibility, authentication and deployment requirements are confirmed during setup.

Security and control
Limited to subscribed Vellum content.
The integration exposes read-only Vellum tools. It cannot read a user's other workspace data, send messages, change documents, or alter connected systems.
The subscriber's chosen host application processes its side of the interaction under its own terms, privacy policy and security controls. Vellum's handling of authentication and tool-call metadata is described in the Privacy Policy.

MCP integration is available only as an add-on to eligible ecosystem subscriptions. Availability depends on the capabilities and security policies of the subscriber's chosen MCP host.
